We have seen some amazing missions and projects realised by ESA over the past years. And after successfully landing on a comet, there is an obvious question: what will be ESA’s next great leap forward? Building a lunar base with its partners?

New projects in space are not laid out for one or two years, but rather for 15 to 20 years, meanwhile technology will advance rapidly. This presents a tough task that calls not only for innovation, but also for imagination and forward thinking. Franco Ongaro, Director of Technical and Quality Management and Head of ESTEC in Noordwijk, will shed some light on the future visions of ESA.
