Who can speak at a TEDx event?
The TED format encourages reputable, honest presenters who will inform and inspire, surprise and delight. Anyone with an “Idea Worth Spreading” can be considered for spreaking at a TEDx event.
Can I suggest someone I work for, or a client of mine? Can I suggest myself as a speaker?
Yes.
Can I suggest someone I don’t know personally?
Yes. Just tell us how you heard about them and why you think they should speak at our event.
Can I speak at TEDx by becoming a sponsor?
No. TEDx Talks are not intended to serve as a platform for advertising.
How many nominations need to be submitted for a speaker?
It only takes one nomination to suggest a speaker. Multiple nominations will not affect the speaker selection process.
Is there a deadline for suggesting a speaker?
We accept nominations all the time. It’s best to make your nomination as early as possible so we have time to carefully review the speaker for consideration at one of our upcoming events.
How long is a TEDx Talk? Can I get a longer time slot?
Talks at TEDx events are typically under 18 minutes. We strictly enforce the clock for all speakers. Even with a short amount of time, a well prepared presentation can have a remarkable impact.
How much are speakers paid?
Speakers are not paid to give a talk. For speakers traveling to present at our event, we do cover travel costs and provide excellent accommodation
