Nick Harkaway – novelist, futurist, hare-brained schemer – says we need to combine our disciplines.

We’re never going to park our Volkswagen Rocketships in front of our orbital houses, and we’re never going to travel to another star at Warp 9. Our future is way more exciting than that, but we need to create a vision of the scientific and social tomorrow that is as bold, compelling and inspiring as the jetpack dreams of the mid-20th century.

We need to dream big and above all dream strange, and to change ourselves, our way of living, our world and our approach to space exploration, and embrace the Beautiful Doable.
